SnackSafe does what you tell it to do. That's it. No negotiations or arguments.
Once you create your program...SnackSafe cannot decide to let you (or your kids)
have another brownie. SnackSafe is your computerized, automatic, strictly
scheduling "cookie jar"... and it remembers to do what you told it to do.
If you tell SnackSafe that you only want to have a snack available once a day
between 5 and 6 o'clock in the afternoon, then SnackSafe will only allow you ONE
snack between 5 and 6. That's it. Whatever you put in the box will be out of reach
except for ONE time during each Chance to Snack that you define.
After you open the SnackSafe and select your snack, SnackSafe closes and locks
immediately and automatically until the next programmed Chance to Snack.
You don't need to reset anything or press a lock button. Everything is automatic.
Once you tell SnackSafe what to do...it just does it, day after day, week after
week. No arguments. You don't have to feel guilty, SnackSafe says NO for you.
SnackSafe knows things about us that we may not know ourselves. Studies of
human psychology (see the science section) show that the first time we take a
snack from a "cookiejar"...we take a healthy and reasonable amount. We know
how much we are supposed to eat and we usually are correct in our first decision.
The problem is that some snacks, especially sweet ones, can wear down our
ability to resist. One taste and we start to think that just a little more will be
ok....and maybe a little more after that....and then we are so far into the box that
we may as well kill the whole thing and destroy the evidence.
But that first amount...that first attempt at self regulation, when we took a
reasonable portion BEFORE we tasted the snack,... that is usually the right snack
portion. SnackSafe uses that ability to self regulate and then removes the extra
temptation that would tend to wear us down. With a SnackSafe in your house you
and your family can more easily restrict your consumption of rich snacks, and at
the same time teach yourselves to be content with smaller portions.
